Evolutionary Information Systems (EIS)

Content

Coping with continuously changing requirements on information systems.
  • Fundamentals of computer-supported information systems and organizational learning
  • Success factors for IT projects
  • Software maintenance vs. software evolution
  • Architecture models
  • Principles of evolutionary systems
  • Data quality in information systems

Prerequisites

(module names are in German)
  • "Algorithmen und Datenstrukturen" (due to object orientation)
  • "Konzeptionelle Modellierung" (due to data modelling and UML)
  • "Softwareentwicklung in Großprojekten" (due to design patterns and IT process models)
  • "Systemprogrammierung" (due to OS architecture)
  • "Berechenbarkeit und formale Sprachen" (due to formal languages as foundation for XML)
  • "Rechnerkommunikation" (due to transfer protocols)
It is also advisable to attend to "Datenbanksysteme", if so in parallel (due to layered architectures and transactions).

The relevant requirements can also have been gained by other modules.

Target audience

  • Bachelor Computer Science (Informatik)
  • Master Computer Science (Informatik)
  • Master International Information Systems
  • German: "Fächeruntergruppe (FUG) 12.1 Vertiefungsfach im Bachelor- und Masterstudiengang Maschinenbau"
