Development Platforms and Team Work for DB Applications

Content

The goal of this lecture is to involve students in the development process of an application in the database field that will be as close to the reality as it is possible (regarding university's abilities). So, two teams of 5-6 students will be organized by themselves in order to create their own solution to a given problem. Additionally, each of the teams will work with different platform (Open Source vs. commercial) in order to test, compare and discuss concrete solutions. Participating students will learn the theoretical background during the seminar, and then will apply it in the practice. (The seminar is possible only together with the practice and vice versa).
